On 27 October 2022, we hosted the fourth Agoria Eco-Factory Workshop in Baelen. The hot topic of the evening: energy.
The event welcomed participants from various sectors. These included representatives from an electromobility provider, a manufacturer of wood and pellet ovens, a provider of industrial maintenance services and a developer of power supply solutions. The group was small but diverse and highly experienced.
While we presented the results of our energy audit to guests, we also benefited from the experiences of other companies. “The environment is something that affects us all and it is valuable to find out about the solutions and best practices of other businesses”, says QSHE Manager Stéphane Claessens.
Following the discussion at previous Eco-Factory Workshops of topics like resources, laws and standards, and waste management, the massive rise in energy costs made the issue of energy an urgent one for everyone involved. Claessens: “Although some companies are somewhat ahead of us in this regard, we are making quick progress with the measures that have been rapidly planned and implemented thanks to the Environmental Working Group.”
Agoria is an industry and technology association, whose members include over 2,000 technology businesses from the manufacturing, digital and communications sectors. The association advises and supports member companies in areas like working towards the factory of the future. One aspect of this transformation is the process of creating an eco-factory: a sustainable production system that makes efficient use of energy and materials.
